Welcome to
Randy
and Michael's World
In
June, 1998, we (Linda and Kim) decided to play around with a radical idea
(or so we thought). We were both avid fanfic readers and writers, but were
feeling hemmed in by the need to adhere to a set canon we had no control over.
So, "Let's create our own characters," we said. Uh-huh.
The
earliest versions of Randy and Michael bear only sketchy resemblance to
what's been posted, thank God. (And no one will ever see them, so don't ask
*g*) We learned how to sketch characters out, sat down and started creating
back histories, and genealogical histories. We created families. Friends.
Schools, workplaces, hell, a major, multi-country corporation!
Somewhere
along the way, in the last four years or so, we went from creating some
characters to play with occasionally to amuse ourselves
to building a world.
And the boys became real to us. No longer just some names and words on paper
(or a word processor)
but real, live, three-D characters. They laughed, cried,
hurt and loved, and we fell in love with them, with learning more about them,
with writing their stories down.
These
are their stories. Their lives. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

a note to go along with all the rest.
Randy
and Michael both play within the world of BDSM. To the unknowing/uninitiated,
that means BondageDisciplineDominanceSubmissionSadismMasochism. Any combination
of those make up the collective 'BDSM'.
Randy and Michael primarily play with Dominance/submission (D/s), but that's
not a static thing; it can/will change. Michael has more experience/history
with it, but it factors strongly into the personalities/needs of both men.
Having
said that, we are including a link at the bottom to take anyone who's
interested, to a page of links that can give you more information/background on
the world of BDSM. There's a hell of a lot of bad press and stereotyping that
goes on for the BDSM/Leather community and we would like to help end some of
that by providing both well-written (read: *researched*) fictionalized accounts
of players and by providing the means for self-education.
